The Northeast Vietnam motorbike tour takes time to explore back roads and tracks along the border with China on motorbikes stopping for a picnic lunch before heading to the Ban Gioc Waterfalls on the border. Travel on small roads to the Nang River. There we put the bikes on boats and journey up the river through caves to the Ba Be Lake National Park, this spectacular clear lake surrounded by jungle-covered mountains is great for a swim and is cool in the summer.

Northeast Border Explorer visits Ban Gioc waterfall – Ba Be Lake national park, Vietnam’s largest natural freshwater lake, where we can swim in the cool waters. Another highlight of the northeast is Ban Gioc Falls on the Chinese border, the fourth-largest transnational waterfall in the world. With its waterfalls and lakes, the northeast is the perfect place to ride in summer. It takes at least five days for a quick loop around the northeast. We start in Hanoi and make our way north on back roads to That Khe, then take small roads along the border with China to overnight at a homestay with a Muong family in Quang Uyen. The next day we head back to the border region and have lunch at Ban Gioc waterfall, and down to Cao Bang town, overnight in a hotel (single room). After breakfast at the hotel, we take the back way to the Nang River where we board a boat with the bikes and cruise down the river and across Ba Be Lake to overnight in a local Home-stay, last day we make our way to our garage in Hanoi where we transfer you to your hotel, end of the tour.

Drivers License:
We require that you have you home country motorbike licence to join on one of our tours. You must have personal health insurance or Travel insurance that covers Motorbike in Vietnam to cover you in-case of accident or illness. To drive a Ural sidecar motorbike on tour you must have a sidecar licence and sidecar driving experience.
Passports and Visa
You must have a valid passport with 6 month before expiry date to obtain a Vietnam tourist visa. We can arrange a visa on arrival letter please have (2) 3 x 4cm photos, and bring $USD to pay the visa fee at immigration at the airport, rates vary per country. Comprehensive Damage Insurance Optional:
Our insurance policy covers lost, theft or any damage to the motorbike caused by an accident or fall, you will be fully covered in-case the bike is damaged beyond repair.
